My lovely readers! Starting off this week’s Office Hours by apologizing (which happens to be what I do best) that your newsletter is coming to you a day later than usual. During my typical weekly writing time, I was baking with reckless abandon for my first ever “cookie drop” - as they call it in the biz. (Reminder to self, don’t use the word “biz”.) I decided to try selling some assortments of cookies on cute vintage 70’s plates and by god, it worked! I even have a few people on the list for the next drop. Happy to be sharing some vegan baking in my very non-vegan community. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
Watching:
Here’s the thing - I am a person that cannot fall asleep without the TV on. I also happen to be a person that would rather play the same DVD (yeah kids, you heard that right) every night than change the batteries on my Roku remote. Unfortunately for my husband, we have now played How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days four nights in a row. The crazier part is that I see no issue with this behavior whatsoever. I am a comfort watcher and this is one of my comfort movies! I watched this movie a ton growing up and I am not about to stop now. They don’t make rom-coms like they used to, so I’ll continue to watch movies from the early aughts.
Listening:
This video has 46 million views and I would say I am about 2500 of those. Willie! Kris! Waylon! Johnny! Pure magic to my ears. I really can’t explain it but every time I hear Johnny sing “or I may simply be a single drop of rain but I will remain, and I’ll come back again” it BRINGS A TEAR TO MY EYE. Also - his Native American beaded suit jacket??? I’m obsessed. Watch, listen, and thank me later.
Cat of the Week:
Now for the most important part of Office Hours, Cat of the Week! This lovely tiny lady is Boris. You may be thinking to yourself, “isn’t Boris more of a dude name?” to which case I say, how dare you and also, yes. Tiny Boris girl is very shy but inquisitive, always lurking at a distance and studying your every move (as pictured). I just know that she would love her little chin scratched (!!!) but that day has yet to come. You can see she’s been spayed by her little ear notch that she wears proudly - cheers to you little Boris, for not contributing to the shop cat infestation!
Thanks for reading, and have a good weekend! ☀️
